We currently have an opportunity for the Area Sales Manager, Utilities & Energy to join our Ductless and VRF division, under Carrier North America Residential and Light Commercial Systems. This position will be responsible for working with national and regional utility providers and energy efficiency organizations to understand current HVAC rebate programs, influence design of utility incentive programs in support of Ductless mini-splits, collaborate with Carrier Engineering for product designs, and execution of marketing, sales strategies, polices, and programs to achieve Ductless sales goals.
Key Responsibilities
Responsible for Ductless product sales and growth within specific channels
Determine which utilities offer Rebates, Incentives and/or Financing for HVAC systems
Collaborate with utilities and energy efficiency organizations to influence decisions related to minimum efficiency requirements for Ductless products to qualify for rebate programs
Work with utilities to educate them on the benefits of ductless products.
Develop and manage joint growth strategies with the Carrier Sales Team, Distribution, Reps and DSOs to take advantage of national utility rebate programs
Support Distribution, DSOs, and Reps to meet their sales targets
Collaborate with the sales channel to ensure satisfied customers
Support Carrier Regional Sales Managers through education of National and Regional programs that favor Ductless
Align on strategic objectives with the Carrier regulatory team
Partner with product management in determining equipment needs that will meet/exceed utility programs and tax incentives
Work with Product Management to ensure Ductless models are listed within regional and national Qualified Products directories for various rebate programs
Identify product gaps, develop solutions to minimize the impact, and work with Product Management to prioritize and eliminate gaps
Contributes to their team or department by applying their knowledge of one or more functional areas
Fully developed professional able to work without direct guidance or direction from others
Has in depth knowledge of the discipline and role
Attend utility & energy efficiency trade shows and events
Ability to travel up to 75% of your time (North America west coast Region)
Achieve assigned sales revenue targets
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree
2+ years sales experience working with and/or selling to distributors
3+ years of sales experience in HVAC industry
Valid Driver’s license
Preferred Qualifications
Sales experience working with and/or selling to utility companies
Proven history of rapid sales growth with satisfied customers
Knowledgeable about Ductless products (operation, design guidelines, accessories)
Thorough understanding of market place dynamics including industry trends, such as, electrification, de-carbonization, and sustainability along with the ability to assess key competitive programs
Strong analytical skills with demonstrated ability to pull data from assorted sources and synthesize in both graphic and verbal format, so that it is easily understood by the target audience
Strong public speaking and verbal presentation skills
Proven capacity to communicate professionally in written and verbal format across a wide audience
Advanced level skills with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
Highly organized with strong attention to detail, while also able to manage multiple priorities
Superior follow-up and follow-through skills
Able to work and communicate with multiple levels of positions within Distribution (Counter Sales Associates, Inside Sales Reps, Outside Sales TMs, Sales Managers and Owner/Principal)
Team player with strong collaborative abilities across business units
Assist the sales channel, service, and contractors to rapidly take advantage of opportunities to include the Inflation Reduction Act
Work with Carrier Marketing to develop marketing materials to communicate Single Family, Multifamily, and Light Commercial messages to identify opportunities and devise strategies for maximum growth and increased market share.
Collaborate with internal Carrier team to ensure utility rebate information and qualifying equipment models are accurately listed within HVAC Partners, MyCarrierRatings, MyBryantRatings, and other similar resources
Build consultative relationships and trust with Distribution, DSOs, and Reps

Pay Range:
