Key Responsibilities:

Perform under the general direction and supervision of the West Coast Operations Manager with the functional responsibility to the other Department leads. You will supervise a team of support and/or production level or hourly / direct employees in Production Operations. Set day-to-day activities and assists in managing and monitoring production operations, maintenance, plant engineering, scheduling and personnel. Assign tasks, train employees and assure quality and productivity within required standards and well-known procedures. Recommend employee administrative actions, changes in methods, techniques, and other matters of a similar complexity. Looking for solutions to automate production processes.

This position supervises a team of support and/or production level or hourly/direct employees in Manufacturing Operations. Sets day-to-day activities and assists in managing and monitoring production operations, maintenance, plant engineering, scheduling and personnel.

  • Manage and supervise team members on day-to-day production goals, activities, deadlines, quality, output and performance.
  • Ensures all quality related items for one cell are complete and documented to meet established quality standards.
  • Organize and implement testing procedures based upon engineering criteria provided, developing new tests as needed.
  • Assists in cost reduction and process improvement to ensure efficiency of operations and cost effectiveness.
  • Assists in scheduling for one cell so that production schedules are met.
  • Assists in sequencing of work, such as build and delivery, for a cell to optimize productivity.
  • Coordinates activities for materials and logistics problem resolution of a cell to ensure availability of materials and smooth operations.
  • Work with Engineers and look for automation solutions for production (manufacturing) processes to improve productivity and reduce labor cost.
  • Assist Engineering to maintain production equipment and to basic troubleshooting.
  • Anticipate and solve operational challenges, provide reports to the Operations Manager and ensure the metrics are updated.
  • Assists in production innovation, including additive manufacturing, of a cell to enhance the cell's production capabilities.
  • Interfaces with Client Service and technical support Team to understand customer needs and issues and ensure that the customers receive satisfactory standards of services
  • Responsible for candidate selection such as interviewing and making hiring recommendations.
  • Perform mid-year and annual performance reviews, providing feedback on performance, achievements, improvement and goal objectives.
  • Mentor and coach in the areas of leadership, teamwork, continuous improvement, safety, productivity and Lean tools/methods.
  • Evaluate training and development needs for individual team members. Perform gap analysis to develop and improve performance.
  • Physical ability to transport objects typically weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Able to perform several and/or combination of the following tasks such as to lift, carry, push, pull, sit, stand, walk, kneel, squat, bend, twist, reach, grasp and/or work with small objects.
  • Able to stand and/or walk for considerable (8+ hours) periods.
  • Extended work hours may be required, including weekends and holidays to meet customer orders.

Required Qualifications:

  • Associate Degree
  • 5+ years’ experience in production manufacturing settings
  • 2+ years of supervisory experience in manufacturing environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business/Operations/Engineering  or higher
  • Strong analytical, communication, problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work and communicate effectively at all levels, both internally and externally.
  • Technical skill a plus.
  • General knowledge and experience with automation
  • Strong computer software operational skills with Excel, Word, and Outlook required. Visio, PowerPoint, Project and Access a plus.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing accounting, job costing, MRP, inventory management and budgeting
  • Previous knowledge of ISO 9001 standards and ACE/lean quality systems

Pay Range:

$73,750 - $103,250 Annually
