About the role

As a Senior Buyer, you will play a critical role in securing the direct material supply that keeps our manufacturing plant running — balancing inventory, supplier delivery performance, and cost to support high-visibility projects across the business. This role offers strong exposure across the organization and a clear path to grow into other areas of Supply Chain.

Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Buyer, you'll be responsible for:

• Ensuring direct material supply to support manufacturing continuity
• Monitoring inventory levels and coverage
• Following up on SOTD, ECN, ETO, E&O, GRNI, and virtual processes
• Managing excess and obsolete inventory
• Negotiating deliveries with suppliers to meet demand, including in-person negotiations with suppliers based in China
• Monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs)
• Executing processes, standards, and operational plans in support of Procurement goals, including RFPs, negotiations, and cost accountability
• Approving and qualifying vendors to meet account needs
• Authorizing purchase orders and approving payments
• Analyzing price proposals, financial reports, and other data to support pricing decisions
• Preparing and reviewing requests for proposals (RFP) and bid packages

Requirements

As a minimum you must have:

• A degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in Supply Chain / Procurement
• 3 to 5 years of experience working with SAP
• Conversational English
• Experience purchasing from and negotiating with suppliers in China, including willingness to travel for in-person negotiations

Although not necessary, it would be nice if you have:

• Professional certification in Procurement or Supply Chain (e.g., CPSM, CIPS)
• Prior experience in a manufacturing environment
• Intermediate to advanced English proficiency
