About the role

As a Manager Software Engineer, you will develop and maintain software-based engineering tools supporting AHU product development and sustaining activities. You will own the end-to-end delivery of key engineering systems from design through deployment, providing technical leadership to ensure robust, scalable, and high-quality solutions. By driving alignment between business needs and technical solutions, you will coordinate cross-functionally and lead your team to contribute to high-impact projects that enhance product performance, efficiency, and the evolution of digital engineering capabilities within the AHU platform.

Key Responsibilities

As a Manager Software Engineer, you'll be responsible for:

• Software Development & Architecture: Own the end-to-end lifecycle of AHU engineering software solutions, translating engineering rules into scalable solutions using Java, driving technical decision-making, and writing well-designed, testable code.

• Technical Leadership & Mentorship: Act as the primary point of contact for feasibility assessments and solution design, while mentoring and guiding team members on technical implementation strategies and best practices.

• Team Coordination & Agile Facilitation: Lead team coordination efforts, including task prioritization, workload distribution, execution tracking, backlog management, and facilitating or supporting Scrum ceremonies.

• System Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot, debug, upgrade existing systems, lead bug triage, and oversee support processes to maintain and improve system reliability, stability, and performance.

• Deployment & Release Readiness: Oversee compilation, deployment, and server-side validation processes to ensure release readiness, stability, and proper validation before production rollout.

Requirements

We are looking for people who are analytical, adaptable to new technologies, excellent problem-solvers, and possess strong communication and time management skills. If this is you, get in touch. As a minimum you must have:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

• Advanced (+7 years) programming experience using Java/JavaScript or C/C++.

• Deep experience with Object-Oriented Java Language and knowledge of XML language for defining, storing, and sharing data.

• Experience with Git/GitHub and Perforce software version control tools.

• Solid experience working with Agile and Scrum methodologies.

Although not necessary, it would be nice if you have:

• Experience coordinating cross-functionally with Engineering, Product, and Operations teams to ensure successful project execution.

• Proven experience identifying risks, dependencies, and ownership gaps to drive active mitigation actions.

• Background in developing flowcharts, layouts, and documentation specifically for air handling units (AHU) or HVAC engineering tools.
