About the Role
We are seeking a Payroll Specialist to support the accurate and confidential administration of payroll for U.S.-based executive employees. In this highly visible role, you will manage complex compensation elements including deferred compensation plans, stock-based awards, executive benefits, and payroll tax compliance. You will collaborate closely with HR, Finance, Legal, and senior leadership while ensuring the highest standards of accuracy, discretion, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
As a Payroll Specialist, you'll be responsible for:
- Processing accurate and timely semi-monthly payroll for U.S. executive-level employees, including salaries, bonuses, commissions, and other compensation components.
- Managing and reconciling executive deferred compensation plans, stock options, Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), and other equity-based compensation programs.
- Ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.
- Partnering with HR, Legal, and Finance teams on executive compensation and payroll-related matters.
- Responding professionally and confidentially to employee inquiries regarding payroll, deductions, compensation statements, and benefits.
- Supporting year-end payroll processing activities and reporting requirements.
- Monitoring changes in legislation affecting payroll, health benefits, retirement plans, and compensation programs.
- Maintaining strict confidentiality of executive payroll and compensation information.
- Reviewing payroll documentation to ensure accuracy, completeness, and proper authorization prior to processing.
- Processing payroll-related activities including stock transactions, deferred compensation payouts, retirement contributions, health deductions, tax-advantaged plans, and fringe benefits.
- Managing benefit and executive payroll integrations to ensure data accuracy and system effectiveness.
- Responding to inquiries from government agencies, financial institutions, management, and employees regarding payroll-related matters.
- Supporting projects, audits, process improvements, and additional assignments as required.
Requirements

As a minimum you must have:
- Fluent English communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Minimum of 5 years of payroll experience within a large national or multinational organization.
- College education in Payroll, Accounting, Business Administration, Office Administration, or a related discipline.
- Experience using the GlobalView (ADP) SAP-based payroll system.
- Strong knowledge of Payroll Administration and Human Resources practices and procedures.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, and complex formulas.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Thorough understanding of applicable federal and state payroll regulations.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with executive employees and senior leadership.
Although Not Necessary, It Would Be Nice If You Have:
- Proven expertise managing executive compensation programs, including equity awards, deferred compensation, and non-qualified benefit plans.
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation.
- Experience supporting executive payroll audits and compliance initiatives.
- Knowledge of payroll integrations, benefits administration systems, and compensation platforms.
- Experience working within a global payroll environment.
