About the position
At Kidde, the Business Intelligence Analyst enables data-driven decisions to be made across functions and helps create a data-driven culture. The person who takes this position will be a critical partner to cross-functional leaders and their teams for transforming data into insights and providing recommendations to improve decision making and outcomes. The role is highly visible with broad exposure to leaders across the business and provides many opportunities for career and skill advancement.

Kidde is seeking an experienced Business Intelligence Analyst who will design, build, automate, and deploy business intelligence reports using Microsoft Power BI. Candidate must be able to program using the DAX language and build data models and visualizations in Power BI. Candidate must be able to automate data flows into Power BI from a variety of sources – both internal and external - including data lakes (e.g., Snowflake) and integrate data in Power BI data sets, reports and dashboards. Finally, this candidate must be able to work across multiple business functions and projects often with short timelines, translate business requirements into technical requirements, and communicate effectively across both business and technical audiences. Ability to create views in Snowflake and knowledge of ERP systems like JDE are bonus.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Build Power BI Reports and Dashboards using the full Microsoft Power BI suite of tools and the Dax language.
  • Build upon, improve, and expand current portfolio of Power BI Reports and Dashboards for general managers and corporate leaders, operations, sales and marketing, finance, and customer service & logistics.
  • Capture business requirements and translate to technical requirements to build complex reporting in Power BI
  • Build custom Power BI Reports on an as needed basis using agile project management to address business questions as they come.
  • Continuously improve reporting and processes by collecting and acting on business and technical partner feedback.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • 3+ years professional experience with the following:
    • DAX programming language.
    • Creating Power BI Reporting – both automated and on-demand
    • Working with data and reporting.
    • Working with operations, sales & marketing, and finance data.
    • Working with MS Excel (Intermediate to advanced level).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Training Users on How to Use Power BI Reports
  • Experience with the following:
    • Data visualization and interpretation
    • Data Analysis
    • Statistical Analysis
    • SQL queries
    • Agile project management
  • Excellent communication Skills
  • Experience in CPG
