Job Summary:

The Global Supplier Quality Lead is responsible for ensuring that suppliers meet the organization's quality standards, driving supplier performance improvement, and developing strategies to mitigate quality risks in the global supply chain. This role requires strong leadership, analytical skills, and technical expertise to collaborate with cross-functional teams, manage supplier relationships, and implement best practices in supplier quality management.

Key Responsibilities:

Supplier Quality Management

  • Develop, implement, and oversee global supplier quality strategies to ensure compliance with company and regulatory requirements.

  • Define and enforce supplier quality standards, ensuring alignment with business objectives and industry best practices.

  • Conduct supplier audits, assessments, and evaluations to verify compliance with quality requirements.

  • Establish and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for supplier quality performance.

Supplier Development & Continuous Improvement

  • Work closely with suppliers to drive continuous improvement initiatives using problem-solving methodologies such as Six Sigma, 8D, and Lean principles.

  • Facilitate corrective and preventive action plans (CAPA) and root cause analysis for supplier-related quality issues.

  • Provide technical guidance and training to suppliers on quality systems, risk mitigation, and process improvements.

  • Drive the implementation of robust supplier development programs to enhance quality capabilities.

Risk Management & Compliance

  • Identify and mitigate supplier quality risks across the global supply base.

  • Ensure compliance with applicable industry regulations, ISO standards, and company policies.

  • Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to maintain supplier adherence to regulatory requirements.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Procurement, Engineering, Operations, and Manufacturing teams to ensure supplier quality integration into new product development (NPD) and production processes.

  • Support new supplier qualification, approval, and onboarding processes.

  • Lead supplier quality reviews and participate in supplier selection and sourcing decisions.

Reporting & Data Analysis

  • Utilize data analytics to identify trends, assess supplier performance, and implement improvements.

  • Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to track supplier quality metrics and drive informed decision-making.

Required Qualifications:

  • BA/BS business or engineering degree with 12+ years experience 

  • MA/MS degree  (preferred)

  • Strong knowledge of quality management systems (ISO 9001, IATF 16949, AS9100, etc.).

  • Expertise in APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, and other supplier quality tools.

  • Proficiency in Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, and problem-solving methodologies (8D, 5Why, DMAIC).Demonstrated thought leadership with ability to lead analysis and resolution of complex problems where success requires the evaluation of both tangible and intangible variables.

  • Ability to travel internationally as required for due diligence, transition, and issue resolution
