Summary:
Senior Mechanical Engineer with significant experience. Implements product development and testing strategies. Develop recommendations for improving product design and quality.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement the overall VAVE and cost-out strategy, aligning engineering and project goals with the company's long-term financial objectives.
Lead and coordinate cross-functional teams (including Engineering, Procurement, Manufacturing, Quality, and Finance) to identify and execute cost reduction and value enhancement projects.
Drive VAVE workshops and institutionalize design-to-cost (DTC) and design-for-manufacturing (DFM) practices across development lifecycles.
Coach, mentor, and build organizational capability within the team in cost analysis, value engineering principles, and data analysis tools.
Oversee product teardowns, perform detailed cost breakdowns, utilize "should-cost" modeling (zero-based costing), and conduct competitor benchmarking studies to identify savings opportunities.
Lead and manage multiple, complex VAVE projects/programs from ideation through implementation, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.
Coach, mentor, and build organizational capability within the VAVE and cost analysis teams, setting clear goals and providing technical guidance.
Provide leadership in supplier negotiations and cost audits, working closely with external partners to validate cost structures and drive continuous improvement. Review existing process approach and prepare test plan and validation for Component and system level requirements.
Should have a detailed understanding of the Design phases of the electro-mechanical products and the deliverables at each stage of the design.
Good Knowledge in component & assembly processes such as plastic injection, Stamping, Sheet metal, Machining, Casting and Elec- Mechanical assemblies.
Good Knowledge on various Plating & Finishing processes used in Industries (Painting, Powder Coating, Plating)
Flexible to travel
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Production, or related field)
Minimum of 10+ years of relevant experience in cost engineering, value engineering, sourcing analytics, or a related field within a manufacturing or industrial environment with an overall experience of at least 15 years.
Proven track record of successfully delivering significant, measurable cost savings and process improvements through VAVE initiatives.
Expertise in VAVE methodologies, function analysis, and various cost estimation techniques
