About the role
The role is part of Thomas Glover Carrier Fire & Security which provides fire safety and security solutions to more than 1 million customers worldwide. Headquartered in Connecticut, U.S., CARRIER Fire & Security is a business, which provides high technology products and services to the buildings worldwide.
The main role's aim is to generate profitable sales in area or region of assignment, based in UK North (Birmingham and above) with identification of business development opportunities and product requirements. As an Account Manager you will be responsible for development of new business from existing clients, actively seeking new opportunities, and management a portfolio of assigned customers. Also, you will provide commercial support and assistance to existing and prospect customers, suggesting new applications, adaptations or modifications to existing product lines to solve specific customer system problems. Drive the “voice of the customer” into all aspects of the business.

Requirements:
We are looking for candidates with experience in sales & account management, with customer focus and can do attitude.
To be successful in the role, you should have:
- Previous sales experience ( ideally in Fire & Security sector or selling a technical product)
- Previous account management experience
- Experience of working in multiple vertical markets
- Good communication and networking skills.
- Ability to build own credibility and develop effective relationships at all levels.
- Ability to work with competing demands in small multi-discipline teams
- UK driving license
As an Account Manager, you will be responsible for:
- Developing and maintaining close customer relationship through programmes of regular scheduled contacts and visits.
- Negotiating prices within the established procedure to ensure profitable sales orders.
- Assisting in planning and developing short and long-term sales and marketing strategy within territory to achieve given turnover targets.
- Analyzing customer and market needs as well as competitors’ products and sales strategies, reporting promptly new developments to management.
- Maintaining control over selling expense limits imposed by company guidelines.
- Participating at trade shows and organizing seminars and product promotions.
- Following up on repairs and returns, identifying and documenting difficulties and problems.
- Following up on product performance, identifying and documenting difficulties, technical and application problems.
- Facilitating specific and regular customer product training to ensure proper understanding of CARRIER F&S equipment
- Maintaining accurate, up-to-date records of daily activities and result.
- Accompanying installers and/or the technical support engineer on trouble-shooting assignments and calls on end-users when so requested, to take corrective action and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Development and maintaining liaisons with national account local branch offices.
- Offering marketing and product management suggestions for product development to meet customer requirements.
- Maintaining contact with local authorities and approval agencies such as architects – gets Thomas Glover products specified.
- Protecting the environment, preventing pollution and improve the environmental performance.
