About the role
Carrier Residential HVAC is looking for a technical specialist to be responsible for delivering embedded software programs and activities for the Residential HVAC business. Candidate will be tasked with developing, delivering programs to support the organization's strategic product development. In order to be successful in this role, candidate will need to have prior experience in leading technical teams towards successful project deliveries.
Key Responsibilities:
Essential Competencies:
- Strong Experience in C and C++ programming languages to implement robust and efficient code.
- Design, develop, and maintain embedded software for various processors and microcontrollers.
- Strong Experience in platforming and system architecture design.
- Well versed with software design practices and hands on designed the software architecture for at least 1 product.
- Experience in non-OS (bare metal), FreeRTOS, Linux, based system design.
- Hands on Development experience with RS232, SPI, I2C, Timers, Graphics LCD, EEPROM and Flash Driver interfaces
- Work closely with systems, hardware, validation/reliability and manufacturing engineering disciplines.
- Develop and maintain software on Linux platforms, including kernel and driver development.
- Develop IoT solutions, including integration with WiFi and other wireless technologies.
- Collaborate with hardware engineers to design and interface with peripherals.
- Troubleshoot and debug complex software and hardware issues.
- Implement and utilize unit testing frameworks to ensure code quality and reliability.
- Solve complex problems related to embedded systems and software development.
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for all stages of development.
- Conduct code reviews and provide mentorship to junior developers.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices.
- Work within Agile and Scrum frameworks to deliver high-quality software.
